“A Day in Mayberry”

Travel: Bus transportation to and from Mt. Airy will include scenery, games, entertainment, and snacks.
Join us for a day of nostalgic memory with a day-tour to the town of Mt. Airy, which is Andy Griffith’s hometown, and the town that inspired Mayberry in the Andy Griffith TV series, and later, the Mayberry, RFD series. We will travel approximately 2 hours taking in the beautiful countryside through Greensboro and High Point. We will arrive in Mt. Airy mid-morning. With sufficient participation, a step-on guide to join our bus or van as we tour the town of Mt. Airy. We will then proceed to the Mt. Airy Visitors Center, the Andy Griffith Museum, and then the Behind-the-Scenes Playhouse tour. Expect some time to browse the town for lunch on your own and also enjoy our arranged guides. See the inspiration for Floyd’s Barber Shop, Wally’s Service Station, and perhaps enjoy lunch at Slappy’s Café, which inspired the diner in the television show. See a replica of Andy’s squad car, and possibly take a ride around the town as a deputy. There is a noted brewery there and a famed ice cream parlor. Find out about Mt. Airy’s other notables in the local museum.
*** Note: For attendees that also book the Pub Crawl, upon return, you will be dropped off at Stop #2 (dinner) of the Pub Crawl and proceed from there. ***

Cancellation Policy: Events are fully refundable until June 1, 2024. If you cancel after June 1, 2024 up to 72 hours before the event, you will be refunded your payment less a cancellation administrative fee of up to $25 (depending on the cost of the event). Cancellations received within the 72-hour period prior to the event are non-refundable. This event may be transferred to another convention attendee at no charge.
