Travel : Travel to/from the museum will be via public transportation, so individuals can extend their museum visit if they choose, returning on their own.
The Museum of Life + Science is an 84-acre combination science museum, park, and small zoo, north of downtown Durham. There are exhibits to delight folks of all ages, including:
- The Magic Wings Butterfly House – a conservatory filled with tropical butterflies, with an adjoining insectarium
- Outdoor zoo exhibits, featuring a troop of seven ring-tailed lemurs and a pair of endangered red wolves
- The Dinosaur Trail with life-sized dinosaur sculptures
- An abandoned quarry that has become a pond and wetlands used by local wildlife, accessible via boardwalk.
Upon arrival, folks will be able to grab a drink at the Elements Coffee Bar, near the main entrance. Later in the day, folks can have lunch or a snack or a glass of wine or beer at the Sprout Café, which uses local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible.
*** Note: A minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 can be accommodated on this tour. Failure to meet the minimum will require us to cancel the tour. Early booking recommended. ***
Cancellation Policy: Tours are fully refundable until June 1, 2024. If you cancel after June 1, 2024 up to 72 hours before the event, you will be refunded your payment less a cancellation administrative fee of up to $25 (depending on the cost of the event). Cancellations received within the 72-hour period prior to the tour are non-refundable. This tour may be transferred to another convention attendee at no charge.
