Getting Around

Getting to/from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)

Option 1: GoTriangle Bus

GoTriangle buses stop at each terminal every 30 min. daytimes & every 60 min. evenings. Take the RDU Shuttle or Route #100 bus to the Regional Transit Center (make sure that the #100 is going to the Transit Center, NOT to Raleigh). Buses are timed for easy connections at the Transit Center on the hour and half-hour. At the Regional Transit Center, make a down the platform transfer to the #700 bus that runs almost non-stop to Downtown Durham. Exit at Durham Station (bus terminal). The hotels are a 5-12 min. walk, depending on the hotel.
Fares (as of 2022): $2.25 (ask for a free transfer on boarding the 1st bus). Seniors (65+) ride free; show a government-issued ID with birthdate or Medicare card upon boarding. Time from RDU to Downtown Durham: ~40 min. Note that the last bus that will get you to Durham leaves the airport about 10 pm. Visit for more information about GoTriangle buses.

Option 2: Uber, Lyft, or Taxi

This is the easiest, fastest, and most expensive option.
Fare: $25-45, depending on the size of vehicle, time of day, and demand. Time from RDU to Downtown Durham: ~25-30 min
